New Song Center volunteer training in August
New Song Center for Grieving Children offers grief support groups for children and their families following a significant death in a child’s life. The groups are led by volunteers who go through training and mentoring.
The next training is on four days in August: Aug. 18 and Aug. 25 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Aug. 20 and Aug. 23 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. It takes place at 1510 E. Flower St. in Phoenix—the administrative office of Hospice of the Valley, of which New Song is a part.
To register, view New Song Volunteers or contact Gary Anderson, (480) 951-8985 or ganderson@thenewsongcenter.org.
Support groups meet at six locations Valleywide; one location offers a group for Spanish speakers. Volunteers are especially needed in the West Valley’s Avondale location, as well as for the bilingual Luz del Corazon program in central Phoenix.
New Song Center also offers educational talks to schools and community organizations to enhance understanding of grief.
