New Song Center for Grieving Children provides a safe, supportive place for children and families mourning the death of a loved one. We help them grieve in a healthy way though art, play, games and other age-appropriate activities — all offered at no cost.

One of the most meaningful parts of my role has been watching the children form connections with one another. Seeing the “littles” relate to peers who understand their experiences reinforces how important it is for them to feel less alone. These interactions demonstrate that healing is not something that happens in isolation, but through shared understanding and connection.
Volunteering with the New Song Center has pushed me beyond my initial comfort zone and allowed me to grow in confidence, awareness, and empathy. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to a program that supports grieving families while shaping my own perspective on care, connection, and resilience.
