Hospice of the Valley treasures our military veteran patients

We treasure our military veteran patients and are privileged to offer a special tribute visit to honor their service and sacrifice. Volunteers, who are military veterans themselves, come to the home and bestow a recognition pinning and keepsake flag to express gratitude. Memories are shared and any delayed trauma (PTSD) from wartime memories can be addressed by trained staff. Director of Community Engagement Lin Sue Cooney speaks with two Hospice of the Valley volunteers who love being part of the agency’s Saluting Our Veterans program—meet Larry Petrowski and Rodney Dehmer.

Respiratory Care

Most of us take breathing for granted, but imagine how frightening it would be to have a life-limiting illness and not get enough air in your lungs. That’s why we have a dedicated Pulmonary Resource Team that helps patients and families develop a customized treatment plan that lets everyone breathe easier.
